You're Berry Sweet Strawberry Coloring Picture

What's better than biting into a fresh, sweet strawberry? Coloring one of course! In this case, you can color a bunch of very happy berries with this free printable coloring page.

Now, before we get to the download link, I need to share something that may be slightly morbid. Because let's face it...these strawberries have faces on them. That gives them personalities. And then we're supposed to eat them? No. In fact, I think that may be why they're so happy. The berries with gleeful looks on them have leapt free from the berry basket and those left behind are, well, there for the taking. Does them not having faces make them easier to eat? I do think so and maybe that means I've chosen to save the lives of some berries and not the others simply by how I drew them.

Clearly I have some deep thoughts about strawberries.

Before I take this any further, let's move along to your actual download. Because I know you're ready to start coloring some strawberries!

If you or your little ones take some time to color this, tag me on Instagram (I'm @molliejohanson) and I'll share it for all to see!

printable // shamrock and rainbow scripture coloring pictures

Sometimes I create coloring pictures for my church and usually they are enjoyed by the kids, teens, and adults in our special needs ministry. Today I thought I should share two coloring pages based on what I've made for them, and both in the spirit of St. Patrick's Day! Each has a Bible verse on it, but I have plain versions without the Scripture too.

The first connects with one of the ways that shamrocks are used for symbolism. The three leaves represent faith, hope, and love, although sometimes they also are used to teach about the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

I absolutely LOVE rainbows. There's something so orderly about seeing things in colors that perfectly blend from one shade to another. I also love that God made a promise with a rainbow, so this verse about promises being fulfilled in Jesus is such a good one to me. Rainbows and Jesus are a pretty perfect combination!

I hope you have fun downloading and printing these!

Philippians 4:6-7 Coloring Picture

Feeling worried and anxious? Maybe you don't feel it as fear, but the fear all around you is still bringing you down. I have two suggestions! First, coloring is often found to help calm anxieties, so I have a free PDF coloring picture for you! But there's more, and it's right there on the coloring page.

Actually, this isn't my suggestion. This comes from the Bible, so personally, I believe it's even better than coloring. A lot better.

"Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life."

Philippians 4:6-7 (The Message)

The coloring picture is a shortened version of the verse, and I included the parts that especially spoke to my heart.

And here's the good news! You can color AND pray at the same time! So as you calm your worries with art you can also invite Jesus to carry your anxieties because he cares for you.

May the peace of Christ be with you, my friends!

Apple Coloring Picture

For those of you who are enjoying the coloring craze, or for those with kids who might need some quiet time, I thought it would be a good time to share a free printable page. I had thought about doing one with all kinds of fall things, but decided to go with apples. They're still fall, right? And even though it's mid-October, we'll still be enjoying apples for a while.

The decision for apples happened when I started to plan a little gathering, with apples as the theme. But let me back up just a bit.

This summer I volunteered to help out one week in the middle school ministry at my church. I did so hesitantly, but thought it would be good to serve. By the end of the service, I was starting to think I should help more, and soon after that I signed up to be a small group leader for girls in 6th grade.

What I thought would be about an hour and a half of my life has turned into every Sunday plus extra things. And I love it. I love the girls I'm working with and the time we spend together.

One of those extra things is what I'm calling an Apple Gala, which is really just a fancy way of saying "let's get together and make caramel apple bowls (like a sundae, but with apples instead of ice cream), play games, and have fun. It seemed appropriate to make a coloring picture in my Wild Olive style.

That's also why there's a verse on the picture, and the verse is actually a prayer, asking God to "keep me as the apple of your eye." Truth: I had to look up what this phrase "apple of your eye" really means. If you're like me and aren't 100% sure, it's this: the apple of the eye is another way of saying the pupil of the eye. It's the most sensitive part, and therefore it's precious and the part you would protect the most.

Psalm 17:8 is asking God for protection. It's asking God to hold you as something precious. And He does.

I hope this coloring page will be a comfort and hope to the girls in my group, and to you as well. And if you'd prefer the version without the verse, that's here for you too.
