color combo: pumpkin season
Pulling out all of the wonderful embroidery floss I have (much of it gifted to me from DMC!) and choosing pretty color combos is something that I just love to do. I've been putting these combos together and sharing them seasonally, but at least for a while, I'm going to make this a weekly occurrence. One combo a week...on Wednesdays...mark your calendar!
This very orange combo is called Pumpkin Season because I've been on a pumpkin kick. The shades were chosen by hauling (that might be a bit of an exaggeration) my bag of orange floss outside and holding the skeins up to actual pumpkins! Check 'em out!
I think we have some really great gourds this year! That lumpy one was a gift from our neighbors who saw it and thought of my family. I'm not sure exactly what that says about us, but I do know that's it's called a peanut pumpkin. I guess that makes us nutty, which isn't a huge surprise...
Happy Pumpkin Stitching!

ReplyDeleteI just saw that peanut pumpkin on another blog. Apparently it's French! From: http://keenandfitting.blogspot.com/2012/10/heirloom-pumpkins.html
