the fifth woodlanders embroidery pattern (and more!)...

restless violet

I think that Restless Violet would be a lovely thing to stitch for a Mother's Day gift, don't you? Yes. Definitely. Download the pattern here, or in the sidebar.

But if you are thinking that you would like something that doesn't require stitching, I have another project for you. I was inspired by pressed flowers like these and these:

pressed flowers!

1. Pressed flowers, 2. 028 Pressed daisy bouquet, 3. Miss Bunny in her garden, 4. Untitled

Pressed felt flowers!

pressed flower

Super simple: download this pattern. cut out the pieces from felt. lay them on the backing for a tiny frame. add a few bits of floss for details and stem. carefully place the glass on top. close up the frame.

Seriously, I didn't even glue these things in place! The pressure from the back holds it all. I'm going to give this to my grandma for Mother's Day. Handmade for mom or grandma is always nice, don't you think?

  4. I loooove these! all of these! Violets everywhere! I was pretty tempted to make violet jelly this spring but stopped dead when I realized jelly can be a tad complicated and I didn't have time for that.
But these are just as nice and so much less complicated to do. Now to find a small frame I know I have packed somewhere...
