the fifth woodlanders embroidery pattern (and more!)...
I think that Restless Violet would be a lovely thing to stitch for a Mother's Day gift, don't you? Yes. Definitely. Download the pattern here, or in the sidebar.
But if you are thinking that you would like something that doesn't require stitching, I have another project for you. I was inspired by pressed flowers like these and these:
1. Pressed flowers, 2. 028 Pressed daisy bouquet, 3. Miss Bunny in her garden, 4. Untitled
Pressed felt flowers!
Super simple: download this pattern. cut out the pieces from felt. lay them on the backing for a tiny frame. add a few bits of floss for details and stem. carefully place the glass on top. close up the frame.
Seriously, I didn't even glue these things in place! The pressure from the back holds it all. I'm going to give this to my grandma for Mother's Day. Handmade for mom or grandma is always nice, don't you think?

i squealed a bit when i saw your post. just this afternoon i got out my flower press to capture some of the spring sprouts and blooms. i didn't have a plan for them until i saw your fun links. thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteand i love how you made the pressed felt flower. grandma will love it, for sure.
I loooove these! all of these! Violets everywhere! I was pretty tempted to make violet jelly this spring but stopped dead when I realized jelly can be a tad complicated and I didn't have time for that.
ReplyDeleteBut these are just as nice and so much less complicated to do. Now to find a small frame I know I have packed somewhere...
