it blends...

Sure I could be working on any number of things right now. But, why, when you can be distracted by the fun of Will It Blend? This is another one of these things where I can't figure out how I've missed it thus far. Will It Blend is a short "show" where a guy uses a Blendtec blender to whip up all kinds of strange things. A complete McDonald's value meal. Coke...in the can. An iPod. Or my favorite, 2 Dancing Princesses. There's just something enjoyable about watching those things get shredded to bits.

It makes be wish I needed a blender. And had an extra $500 sitting around.

charting the cold weather...

Ah yes, now I remember what Chicago weather is like in the winter. Well, not that one could actually forget, but we were all getting so spoiled with sunshine and temps in the 50s. Now that it's cold, I'm not sure what I was expecting. Oh well.

One of my plans for the new year was to share this Fair Weather Friends Weather Chart, as a means of tracking the weather. But of course, I forgot until today. But hey, better late than never! To have your own printable weather chart, just download and print it out, then help a young friend (or just enjoy it yourself!) chart the temperature, plus if it's sunny, windy, rainy, or snowy.

Have fun!

the dig...

My packing and digging through my room continues today, but with it came a few finds. This is one of the benefits of going through everything, instead of just dumping. Coffee scented candles. (Didn't know I had 'em!) An unused gift card. (Thought I'd spent it ages ago!) A sketch book with drawings I thought were gone. (Some of the drawings may need to find their way onto some crafty goodness!)

As I found things and decided to lose things, I was reminded of a website that I hadn't visited in years called My Urban Dig. This could be my life. Maybe I should document all my stuff, then dump it!

new year...new room...

Happy New Year (a wee bit late)!

My life feels like it's in a bit of upheaval right now (more than usual), because I'm in the process of packing up many of my things in preparation for construction to my room. It's been a while since having to do this, so I'm reminded all over again of the "fun" things that go along with packing up your stuff. For example, there's making sure that you set aside the things that you'll absolutely need accessible for the next 8 weeks. And as I see that I can get by with not a whole lot, I wonder, "Why do I have all this other stuff?" Yet, I find it difficult to actually get rid of all the extra stuff. Why is that?

The good news is that it won't be too long before I have a better space to live in and work in. Now I just have to be determined to eliminate all that extra stuff as I unpack.
