going into christmas vacation mode
When the end of the year rolls around, I usually go into vacation mode. There are last-minute things to be made (cookie dough and a bit of sewing are still waiting for me!), time to be spent with family, and maybe a new video game or two.
I let go of things that feel less important, such as getting pretty pictures of the Christmas tree, which I had been determined to do. I don't freak out over the work that I hoped would be done, even though it still has to be done at some point. I decide that the Christmas mug rug I've been making myself can be a whenever mug rug that happens to have some red and green on it.
The blogging slows and I just start soaking up moments.
