the traveling gingerbread house
Hello everyone!!!
I am so happy to do another guest post on Mollie's blog!!! I am Susi and I blog over on Lilla Luise...we would be delighted if you want to come and visit us there! Mollie has been a great blogging friend ever since we got to know her...we do not only share our love for everything that involves needlework and pretty fabrics but also our love for strange, maybe kitschy, but still to-be-loved ideas. One of these ideas is "The Traveling Gingerbread House"! We would love if you want to join in! Everyone is invited, no matter what part of the world you live in!
So, let me tell you a bit more about this project:
"The Traveling Gingerbread House" is traveling in a hoop and with a small journal. The plan is that everyone who receives it adds a sweet/candy to it. Just gather your favorite floss and stitch your favorite candy up on the house! The journal will give you space to share your memories/recipes/thoughts on the candy you stitched up! I started with a sprinkle-y gingerbread heart and once you receive the journal you can read why this is the candy we chose!
If you want to receive our little gingerbread house please drop either Mollie or me an email to let us know your location and address. Once you receive the hoop and journal please try to not keep it longer than a week. I will always give you the next address where to send it on and if there are any questions at all don't hesitate to contact us! I will keep track of the ginger bread house's journey on my blog so you can follow its journey through the world!
I hope we get as many of you involved as possible - I have a feeling it will be great fun!!!
Hey there! Mollie here! The Traveling Gingerbread House has already made its way to me and I've added a sweet and spicy cinnamon bear. I freehand stitched, so he's a wee bit wonky...and I'm okay with that! The hoop and journal (with my explanation of the candy I chose) is here and waiting to be sent to the next person.
By the way, if you do join in, I think it's a fun thing to add in a little something extra (for example: floss, treats, or even a small handmade object) for the person who receives the hoop after you...so they have something to keep!
To get on the list for The Traveling Gingerbread House, email me (molliejohanson [at] gmail [dot] com) or Susi (susi [dot] ullmann [at] yahoo [dot] de).
I hope that by next Christmas we'll have a fully decked out house!
EDIT: We are truly thrilled by the amount of people that want to join this special little project. If you don't hear back from us straight away this is just because it will take a wee bit of time to work out a travel route for the gingerbread house! :)
