25 crafts of christmas // glitter

glitter10

I love woodland Christmas decorations (I'm thinking about using that as a theme for next year's tree...yes, I think that far ahead), and natural or all white Christmasy things, but to me, this is truth:

Christmas = Glitter.

Two years ago, glitter was what we used for everything on our Christmas tree. This year I'll be using a few sparkles, but not nearly as many...and I'm almost a little sad about that.

Yes, this is a controversial craft supply, because yes, it does get everywhere. But I think that just makes me like it all the more. The good news is that you can find it varieties that are a little less messy (although there is still some sparkle on our kitchen cabinets from a glitter glue incident that happened YEARS ago!).

What do you think? Yay or nay on glitter? I hope you said "yay" because here are some sparkly projects that I especially love for Christmas (or anytime!):

Shine on, crafty friends!

  1. Yay for glitter - always yay! But then I have two small daughters so there may be an element of "if you can't beat em, join em" !

  4. Always a yay on the glitter. I'd continue to wear it on my eyes if people wouldn't accuse me of being a stripper, not to mention it isn't very professional.

  5. Oh Mollie, I love the way glitter looks but as a retired elementary school teacher I can not celebrate it like I used to. I still have flashbacks to some of these incidents. Glitter. . . . . everywhere! As my college age daughter tells me, Glitter truly is the herpes of craft supplies. Keep on glittering though, it Iooks beautiful,I just don't want to do it myself.

  7. Definitely yay! I really like using glitter glue as well, no mess but the same effect.
