seaside home: review and giveaway
Have you seen Seaside Home? It's now been several months since the book came out, and I've been meaning to share it here, waiting for just the right time. And this is the right time!
I was so delighted when Stash Books asked me to contribute something to this book, and even more delighted when they chose my project to go on the cover! The Courteous Crab Napkin Wraps were lots of fun to make, and I'm honored to have them among the many amazing projects in this book.
Truth be told, I'm not much of one for the seaside. Maybe I've just not had the right experience yet, but my favorite thing about the beach is that I'm not there right now. I'll take a clean pool over sand and sea any day. Sorry...but it's true.
Still, that doesn't stop me from loving the nautical and oceanic things in Seaside Home...I'm especially crushing on the Saucy Mermaid and Porthole Baby Quilt!
But now it's your chance to share your favorite thing about the Seaside, and enter for a chance to win a copy of the book! Enter using Rafflecopter below. Good luck!

As soon as I feel the sand between my toes and hear the waves crash on the shore, I begin to relax immediately. That's my favorite thing about the seaside:)
ReplyDeleteI love being at the beach late in the evening, when the sun is setting. So gorgeous. I also love the smell and sounds and the salty wind (though I don't love what it does to my hair :).

I love the shiny sun, the kids playing in the sand and the waves hitting my feet
ReplyDeleteI'm like you, Mollie. I like the idea of the beach, but not the reality so much.
ReplyDeleteI love the dound of the waves coming to shore, and the screeching gulls, especially on a windy day
ReplyDeleteI love the smell and the sound of the beach!
ReplyDeleteI spent my honeymoon at Bali Beach :)
I am with you. I would love the beach if it weren't for the sun...and the sand...and the water!
ReplyDeleteA lake beach is definitely my favorite. Especially if you are able to walk along a wooded path to find it - that's my idea of perfection. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI love just the peacefulness of hearing nothing but the waves, my children laughing and sea birds chirping
ReplyDeleteMollie,
ReplyDeleteGetting a copy of this book would be great! I have looked around but can't find it anywhere.

These days I´ve been in Ibiza and I enjoyed at the seaside!!I love listening the sound of the waves and the way the beache relax me..
ReplyDeleteI think that I´ve done everything well for the giveaway....
thnx!!
The best thing about the seaside is the water. Walking along it (just relaxing and wading) or going all the way in and swimming or just watching the waves (and maybe spotting a dolphin!).
ReplyDeleteA beach is a place when nobody can stop me from being relaxed. Just hearing the sound of the waves and - what is weird - people around, makes me forget about everything that bothers me - my problems, the number of things, that I have to do - all the bad feelings just go away. And I can really feel the magic atmosphere of this place. Oh how I wish I was there now...
ReplyDeleteAnd I must say, I love those Crab Napkin Wraps, so adorable! :)
I love walking on the beach in the evening. I love the sound of the waves and the salty smell! So relaxing!
ReplyDeleteOh my, that's absolutely delightful. I must get this book! The coast is like home to me and I miss it dearly as I've been landlocked for a few years.
ReplyDeleteI love the feel of the warm sand between my toes :) I have seen that book and it looks to have some great projects, love your cover crab :)
ReplyDeletei love the noise of the waves running over the shore, especially if it is a pebbly beach.
ReplyDeleteI love being on a sailboat at the sea. Very relaxing! thanks for the giveaway of a lovely looking book.
ReplyDeleteI love the sound and the smell of the ocean!
ReplyDeleteI love the beach in winter. It's not crowded at all and it is just so peaceful and beautiful.

I haven't been to the ocean in like 15 years, but I love the warm sand between my toes, building sandcastles, the salty air, the gently splashing waves on my legs, frisbee with my brothers, and finding seashells. I just love how it takes over all of your senses-you see and smell and hear and taste and feel the ocean!
ReplyDeleteI love watching and listening to the waves.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part of being seaside is swimming out as far as you can and watching the people on the shore.
ReplyDeleteJust watching the waves. Enjoying the simplicity.
ReplyDeleteThank you.

My favorite thing about the seaside is the way the ocean smells.
ReplyDeleteHeidi W.
I love the salty air and the crisp breeze but my favorite thing is walking in the cold sand early in the morning.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing is the fresh seafood.
ReplyDeleteBlake H.
My favourite thing is looking for 'treasure' (shells and pebbles) amongst the seaweed and driftwood with my son
ReplyDeleteIt's been a long time since I've been to seaside!
ReplyDeleteI remember a trip in north Quebec on the sea, to see the whales migrating to the warm seas.
I rememer also some hollidays, on a small island in france: l'île d'Aix.
No car, only bicycles, and wlaking.
To reach it, we had to leave the car on the continantand take a boat.
There were some isolated beach where there were few tourists on it.
It was like a dream.
Cécile
I'm not a huge fan of the sea side either...but I think my favorite thing could be watching how much fun the little kids have.
ReplyDeleteThis looks fun!
ReplyDeleteThis landlocked girl loves EVERYTHING about the sea and misses it so!
ReplyDeleteI love to spend time with my kids on the beach feeling the sand making sand castles and listen to waves sound

Since I hail from Michigan, I'm more a lakeside girl. I like getting up really early, 3-4 in the morning, and walking in the sand. Especially if it's windy!
ReplyDeleteLooks awesome!
ReplyDeleteI love love the gentle blowing breezes and the gentle waves of the water!
ReplyDeleteI love the shore but not the beach anymore. That Porthole Baby Quilt is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI love the sound of the water crashing up against the land. I could listen to it ALL DAY! Oh, and lighthouses. So pretty.

As I type I am laid in bed with my window open and I can hear the sounds of the seaside, the call of the seagulls, the rustle of the wind and the rhythm of the waves. So very relaxing, I just love living by the sea.
ReplyDeleteThe sand squiching between my toes as I walk just close enough for the sea to lap over my feet.
ReplyDeleteI love the ocean roars as the waves crash. It is so relaxing. We go to the beach several times a year. We only live three hours away and is so worth the short drive, even for a day trip.
ReplyDeletei love all in the beach! :D

I love the sun and the cool breeze from the ocean.. and I really love how peaceful it is early in the morning or at sunset.
ReplyDeleteWe camp at the beach every spring... I love the treasures my girls and I always find... The driftwood, seashells, special pebbles and sea glass, of course.
ReplyDeleteI love feeling of the warm sand under my bare feet and when Im standing at the sea shore, feeling the gentle waves brush in between my toes. AND BEFORE YOU KNOW IT, A HUGE TIDE COMES IN AND YOURE DRENCHED HAHA. And...your sandals have been swept away by the waves so youre chasing like a mad person after it.
ReplyDeleteI like it when that happens <: The beach is the best with friends, they make everything better!
I love watching my kids play at the beach - which is where we are right now! Port Aransas, Texas!
ReplyDeletei have fond memories of playing on abandoned piers on lake michigan in racine, wi, and of climbing down the steep banks to get there. unfortunately, most of the "safe" trails have eroded away. otherwise, i'm just like you. i'll take that pool thankyouverymuch.

I love beach & seaside themes!! They just make me feel warm inside. Especially when it's winter here on this side of the world!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite thing about the seaside is gathering all kinds of shells. I have a basket on my coffee table with all kinds of shells in it.
ReplyDeleteI love the book's projects and would love to win it! Thanks for the chance :)
ReplyDeleteWhat I love about the seaside or beach is how relaxing it is to squish the sand between your toes and feel the warmth on your body as you lay on the beach. The smell of the salt air, the cool breeze, I could literally lay there for hours doing nothing :)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely floating out in the water with a floaty of some sort. It;s just so much fun and super refreshing.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite thing about the seaside is sitting watching my children and puppy run around having fun. great giveaway, my gran used to take us to the beach every weekend when we were little. It was just a part of my life, and now it is a treat.
ReplyDeleteMy fav thing about the seaside is everything, but esp. The laidback personalities of the locals and the sand, surf and food! Love a tradewind also! If you can't tell I love the seaside!
ReplyDeleteI am also not a fan of beaches, but on a trip to Iceland we went to a black stone beach - the day was gray and the beach was black and the ocean was silver - my color pics from that day look black and white and they are some of my faves from the trip. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI love to walk along the beach but do not go in the sea, I can not stand the feel of sand on wet skin. Yuk
ReplyDeleteMost definitely the time spent with family enjoying the sun, waves and the freedom from every day life that your feel at the beach!
ReplyDeleteI love the beach, hanging out and reading a good book!
ReplyDeleteThe salty smell and the sunshine! Even when it's packed, there seems to be a sense of calmness at the beach.
ReplyDeleteSnorkeling and the way your skin feels when you rinse off the salt water. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the people, the sun and the water... what a great combo!
ReplyDeleteI love the ocean. I love trying to get as close as I can without getting wet, or standing on rocks as the ocean sprays around you. Its awesome.
