stitched: an online video workshop

STITCHED BANNER

Have you heard about STITCHED? STITCHED is a collection of 20 online video workshops by 20 amazing and talented fabric artists. Each workshop provides you with high-value and high-content information to get you sewing, designing and creating.

I'm excited to a part of this group, and doing my very first video workshop! Let me tell you, the whole process has been an interesting one. Video in a busy household is tricky, and then of course there's my tongue-tied mouth! I'm still in the process of editing the final videos and making them all pretty, but I thought you might like a look at what has landed on the virtual cutting room floor:

Did you just love that little hand that passed (in slow-mo) in front of the camera? Yeah, I'm still figuring out how to edit that away and have it all work.

But now that you've had a laugh with me, here's a look at my contribution:

InTheClutch1

An embroidered clutch purse! In my workshop, you'll see the full step-by-step for making this bag, including some basic embroidery, as well as a few ideas for adapting it from a purse into other types of pouches.

But as I mentioned, I'm just one of 20 instructors. There are going to be so many amazing workshops in this, and I'm really looking forward to learning as much as I am teaching. All of the projects use fabric in some way, which is perfect for someone like me (maybe you too?).

The STITCHED workshops open up on January 1, but registration starts today. And if you sign up by December 15th, I'm offering a pack of 3 embroidery patterns (your choice!). They can be used as a part of my workshop, or for anytime stitching!

When you register, you'll be directed to the main registration page, but don't worry...I'll receive notice that you signed up here and want the 3 embroidery patterns.

What are you waiting for? Get ready for some stitching in 2012!

Cute, Mollie! I just made my first tutorial video yesterday...oh my gosh I was so tongue tied in it. We had to edit a ridiculous amount. Hopefully after this first one they'll get easier :)

  9. Ha! That is so funny! I have taught High School for what seems like forever, which doesn't intimidate me at all, but something about being in front of a camera totally freaks me out!! I teach to a camera to save my life.

    Thanks for the laugh.
