friendship week: meeting blog friends

YIP2010 - 231

If you've been reading this blog for at least the last year, you may have seen this photo before. This is Katie Green and I when we met for the first time last year. Technically, this is the only time we've met but not for long.

You see, Katie lives in England, so it's not so easy for us to just visit each other. Which is why it's rather a big deal that we're planning a trip for me to go and see Katie, her boyfriend, her family and friends. It's not until October, but I suddenly realize that the time will come soon. I'm so excited to spend more than just a day with this friend whom I connected with so quickly.

Katie may be the only blog friend that I've met in person, but I have others that I've worked with and connected with online. I have a special page set up for them, and you really should check them all out here.

But what if I could meet and connect with more blog friends? I know that there are people who read my blog who live in my area, and what if we met up? Would you like that?

I live in the Fox Valley area in Illinois...that's about 50 miles west of Chicago. This is what I'm thinking. A coffee and craft get-together some Saturday in September. If you're in the area, and you'd be interested in meeting some blog friends, leave a comment! If there's at least a few of us, I'll set up a date, time and place and announce it here soon!

And if you're not in the area, but you've never left a comment, this is a great time to introduce yourself. I'd love to "meet" you!

  1. Hi Pretty Lady~ Well, California sure is a long way from Illinois, but if it were closer, I'd definitely come! I've been able to meet a small handful of bloggers from this area, and we got together and had a tea and stitch date in San Francisco, it was amazing! Fast friends, that's what we all were, and I know it'll be the same for you! Have fun out there, love from CA!

  14. how cool is this? I just found your blog today, and saw this post about meeting up. I live in your 'hood too! I'm close to Montgomery Rd. and Frontenac. Being the lazy person that I am, I don't have a blog but I love reading them. I'd love to meet fellow creative types! :)
