a cuppa...

1+1=one

I've been quite taken by the look of embroidery on patterned fabrics. So when I went to start this new stitched up example of a new pattern, I thought I'd give it a try. I love gingham, and had this on hand, and it seemed cute to go along with a cuppa tea.

(view large on flickr to get a better look at the pattern traced onto the fabric!)

The thing is, it isn't cotton gingham. So first off, it stretched and pulled all over the place when tracing the pattern. But then it also splits a little strangely when stitching. I'm just crossing my fingers and hoping that it doesn't run. Otherwise, I will be just like the tea kettle...sad, and a little steamed!

(and guess what else is coming for patterns...Baker's Best Ingredient Friends!)

  1. I'd love to try embroidery on patterned fabric, but I have not found the right fabric yet! I did buy some really nice rolls of fat quarters the other day, thinking maybe some of those would be nice! Have a great day!
