going into christmas vacation mode

Geometric Tree

When the end of the year rolls around, I usually go into vacation mode. There are last-minute things to be made (cookie dough and a bit of sewing are still waiting for me!), time to be spent with family, and maybe a new video game or two.

I let go of things that feel less important, such as getting pretty pictures of the Christmas tree, which I had been determined to do. I don't freak out over the work that I hoped would be done, even though it still has to be done at some point. I decide that the Christmas mug rug I've been making myself can be a whenever mug rug that happens to have some red and green on it.

The blogging slows and I just start soaking up moments.

  1. That sounds wonderful. I go in to full panic mode. Vacation mode hits in January.

  2. Merry Christmas to you and yours. I enjoy your posts and appreciate your hard work! Have a very good "vacation mode."

  3. I love this. Just discovered your blog while going through Mollie Makes interview archives. Merry Christmas, Mollie!

  4. Merry Christmas to you too and thanks so much for the alpaca pattern...I made 11 of them and they were a hit!:)

  5. Merry Christmas! Hope your holidays are fun and restful in the exact amounts you need!
