Over the last three months, I've been sharing my Embroidery Basics series. I don't have any more posts planned for this right now, but you never know...I may get some more together down the road. In the meantime, here's a little overview of the posts with links to each!
Materials
Transferring a Pattern
Choosing Colors
Strands, Sewing, Stabbing and Starting
Running and Back Stitches
Stem and Split Stitches
Chain and Detached Chain
Making Faces (French Knots and More Detached Chain)
Fill Stitches Part 1
Fill Stitches Part 2
And...someone asked me about instructions for lefties. I wasn't planning on it, and wasn't even sure how that would work. But I read about flipping illustrations, and thought that might work for my photos too. So, I tried it. The written instructions aren't direction specific, so I think these may work! If you're a lefty, download the PDFs below and let me know if they are helpful.

Thanks to everyone who has been following along! Please remember that you are always welcome to ask questions, and I'll do my best to help you out with an answer!
oh thank you!!! i'm a lefty and so very often have to change things around or learn to do it right handed because no one else can teach me. i've done the mirror trick (tried it for knitting and ended up learning to badly knit right handed instead). once i clear off a project or two, i'll try your new instructions and see if the flipped pictures help me out.
ReplyDeleteI'm lefty too! Thank you for the post!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for all this info. I've printed each one as you posted and refer to them when I'm working on projects. Thanks again for your generosity. Take care......peace.

ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the tutorials. When first learning embroidery it is nice not to have to pay for lessons when you don't know how to do something. I know you put a lot of time and effort into these tutorials . Thank you again
