Where do you like to stitch? Around the house? Out in nature? While exploring your town? Or maybe as you travel the globe? No matter where you pick up a needle, if you like stitching cuteness, I'm pretty sure you're gonna enjoy the latest Wild Olive stitching clubs!
With this club, we'll be stitching something from each of the seven continents. This really is a stitching trip around the world!
Bringing together two things I love, embroidery and English paper piecing, this 8-week club will result in a large mini quilt. Each week club members receive an email from me with that week's pattern and/or instructions, ways to connect with other club members, and a special section with prayer prompts for those who wish to pray for the world (it's at the end of the email and easy to skip if you'd rather).
Of course, this project starts with embroidery. This club features seven small embroidery patterns representing landmarks and a few natural features from each of the seven continents. Six of the locations are beautiful places I'd love to see someday (okay, so maybe not Antarctica...), as well as one that is near and dear to me.
Because of the locations we're stitching, the color palette for this club is much more neutral and natural, with a few fun pops of color.
Each pattern fits on a 2-inch hexagon, and that's where the English paper piecing comes in. Along with the embroidered hexagons, you'll also make extra pieces and everything will fit together to make a mini quilt.
And because both embroidery and EPP are so portable, you can actually stitch while you're traveling the globe! (or just dreaming of your trip!)
Basic instructions for English paper piecing and quilt-making are included, though it's helpful to have some knowledge of embroidery. If you need assistance with this project along the way, I'm happy to help.
Plan to set aside a few hours a week for this, and you'll have a hand-embroidered, hand-pieced, and even hand-quilted mini quilt in eight weeks.
In addition to making something cute, you'll also have the opportunity to connect with other club members by sharing your progress and interacting with others using the tag #TravelingTheGlobeStitchingClub on social media.
The price for the Traveling the Globe Stitching Club is just $8.00! When you register, you'll receive a welcome PDF with a supply list and templates to get you started, as well as access to all the club emails that were already sent out to members. Patterns and instructions will be emailed on Tuesdays starting through December 12.

Let's stitch while traveling the globe!
Visit and stitch your favorite spots in your little city with the About the Town Stitching Club! This club ran as an 8-week club and is now available as a complete download in PDF format.
This club is part embroidery and part English paper piecing (EPP). The result is a hexagon-shaped embroidered mini quilt that is almost entirely stitched by hand.
This club features six sets of tiny embroidery patterns representing favorite shops and spots you might visit while you're about the town. I like staying home, but if I were to spend a day with a friend in my town, we'd go to all the places these patterns feature. Each week's pattern is made up of three tiny designs, so you actually get 18 tiny motifs. Plus the bonus pattern for the center!
And because both embroidery and EPP are so portable, you'll actually be able to stitch while you're about the town!

Let's stitch about the town!
Part of the Exploring Your World series, the Out in Nature Stitching Club ran as an 8-week club and is now available as a complete download in PDF format. Like the others, it combines hand embroidery and English paper piecing to make a mini quilt. You might even decide to do your stitching out in nature!
This project features six embroidery patterns representing different elements in nature. The patterns are small enough to fit on 2-inch hexagons, but each features a mini scene.
The embroidery combines with English paper piecing to make a mini quilt. Full instructions and templates are included for EPP, though some embroidery experience is recommended.

Let's stitch out in nature!
The Around the House Stitching Club ran as an 8-week online pattern club, but it is now available as a complete download. This club combines embroidery and English paper piecing, and is suitable for beginners, while fun for experienced stitchers too.
This project features six embroidery patterns representing rooms in your house. Or if not YOUR house, they're at least be items that are part of your daily life. And actually, each pattern is made up of three smaller patterns that you can use together or separately. So technically, you get 18 small patterns.

Let's stitch around the house!
Hi Mollie :) I have to admit I haven't finished the states.... BUT I'm still excited about the new around the house project. I went instantly to sign up. And yes I will be getting all 4, not to say they will get finished, I will give it my best shot! If not they will go in my someday retirement stash. Thanks for giving us such cuteness. Sandy
ReplyDeleteI plan on doing all four also. I have a friend I will try to convince to join.
ReplyDeleteJust signed up! I also have not finished the states :(, but am excited for this new project. I am going to try my best to not get behind. Smaller projects are much easier for me to tackle at this point in my life. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Smaller projects is right where I am too. Hence doing the club this way again!
DeleteWhich fabric lines are you using? That orange is adorable!
ReplyDeleteI just grabbed what made me happy from my stash, so I don't even know what all of them are. I do know that the orange was a JoAnn Keepsake Calico, but it was nearly two years ago.
DeleteOh, I'm so excited about a new club.....and I know it's going to be so stinkin' cute and it involves EPP??? Eeep - Eeep.....I can hardly wait!!!
ReplyDeleteI just signed up. Can't wait to start embroidery again!
ReplyDeleteOh yay! I have been wanting to get back into embroidery (I haven't done it since last year!) and this is a perfect reason! And I know just the fabric I'm going to use too! Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteCount me as another one who hasn't finished the 50 states yet, but how can I resist a new club? :)
ReplyDeleteHi! I love the first pattern! I was just wondering when we would get the info for using all 4 themed patterns to make the bigger quilt not to make the mini quilt? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi Whitney! I was supposed to mention that in my first email, and I got distracted by all the other things. Sorry about that! It will be there in the next email. Meanwhile, you can stitch the first hexagon as for the mini quilt. Or...send me an email and I'll fill you in right away.
DeleteHi Mollie! I was just curious if you're going to be doing another stitching club this year? I missed your Around the House one, but I'd love to join the next one. :) Thank you!
ReplyDeleteYes! Another club will be coming soon, so watch for details!
DeleteHi Mollie. Can you go at your own pace or is this a hands on must do during specific times kind of thing? And seriously it's only $8 to join all at this time?
ReplyDeleteThis is definitely work at your own pace. But, if you embroider a hexagon a week, plus make a join a few extra pieces during that time, you can can take a couple weeks to finish it all off in a total of 8 weeks.
DeleteAround the House Stitching Club ended as a weekly club, so if you purchase now you'll receive all of the patterns and instructions at once.
And yes, it's just $8.00 per club! A new session with new patterns will be opening soon, and it will be priced separately.
Yay! Still working on assembling my States quilt top, but I see the finish line ahead. I can't wait to get started on these.
