detangling, unknotting, and replanning
Do your days, weeks, months, and dare I say, years ever feel like this? Sometimes they feel more tangled and messy than this bundle of embroidery floss.
It came out of my stash this way, and as I started to undo what I had apparently done some time ago, it felt rather poetic.
As I stare December in the face, feeling behind on things I need and want to do, it's really easy to be overwhelmed by it all. The other day I found myself wishing everything in the world could just be "right". I don't even know what that really means, but I know that for me it will involve more stitching, more loving people, and more Jesus.
And maybe some Christmas music.

I like this metaphor. Sometimes I feel like time is all wound up together in this mess of assessments and repetitive days at school, but not anymore because it's the holidays and time feels like one straight long line from country to country, event to event.

I feel your pain and reflected on the same things this morning during my quiet time. At work, the advertising emails are overwhelming. They come 3-4 times a day and fill up my inbox. I'm just going to hit delete on all of them and try to stay focused the truly important things, same as you. Thank you for the time you spend on this sweet blog. I enjoy your drawings.
ReplyDeleteMmm more stitching, more loving people and more JESUS! Sounds like a good plan! Think this needs to by my motto for 2016
