Netflixing Gilmore Girls

Making while watching is a very fine thing, and finding the good stuff to watch while you're making is important. And I love when people share what they're watching while they work. Sometimes it takes me a little while to get through a whole show and all its seasons, but as I make my way through Netflix, I'll be sharing my recommendations (even when they're embarrassing!).

Speaking of embarrassing, can you believe that I've never watched Gilmore Girls until now? Seriously, other than a few clips here and there, this is my first time. And I'm loving it.

As I'm watching, I've been stitching down quilt binding and working towards the big wrap up of 50 States Stitching Club, which will be here before we know it.

What are you Netflixing and stitching right now?

  1. Unfortunately, I'm not stitching anything right now. :) We're in the middle of trying to sell our house, our first year of homeschooling and I have 3 little ones, 6 and under! Not much time for stitching these days! But that's why I read blogs like yours so I can live vicariously! HA!

We've been watching Parks and Recreation on Netflix. HILARIOUS. Oh my goodness. So, so funny! I've never seen Gilmore Girls (sacrilege, I know!) but one of our children shares a name with one of the characters from the show and we get asked all. the. time. if that's where we got the name. :)

  2. I've done all of Gilmore Girls, Cheers completely through twice, Friends, started both 30 Rock and Parenthood and burned out on both, and just finished season 1 of Charmed. Definitely all great for stitching!

  3. We saw all the Gilmore Girls episodes when it was first aired. It is being re-run on another network, and when we discovered it, we were really happy. Watching it again all these years later is interesting. I remember the big things, but forgot the little things throughout the run. I also have a different perspective now too. Enjoy.

  4. Gilmore Girls has been a staple favorite of mine for a long time, but it's been years since my last rewatch and I really ought to change that. I've been working on some smaller projects lately so Steven Universe has been my recent go-to when I have 20 minutes here or there. Other favorites include Bones and Criminal Minds.

  5. Ahh I watched the entire first season of Gilmore Girls but it's actually not on Netflix here in Australia so I'm unable to watch it now :( I really want to though. At the moment I've been having a nice little marathon of the Vampire Diaries, because I was like yeah why not...

  6. Mash! All the seasons are on Netflix now. I like the drama and comedy mix. The episodes are pretty short but there are a ton of them. I am slowly working on a hand sewn hexie quilt. If I had known better at the start I would have made the hexies bigger!

  7. For me, it's usually documentaries/science/history shows (I'm the weirdo) and, for whatever reason, lots of British TV when I stitch—"Poirot" and "Bit of Fry and Laurie" and so forth. Things that are engaging while not requiring all of my attention and able to make me laugh. (Also, if you like Art Deco or Moderne, "Poirot" is crazy good eye candy.) There are a lot of superb "Masterpiece Theatre" programs, too. :)

  13. I hadn't seen Gilmore Girls until a few months ago either! I'm all about crafting with shows on in the background and binge watching tv or movie series seems to make crafting even more fun!

  14. Too funny! I hadn't seen a single episode of The Gilmore Girls until about two weeks ago, and I will admit that I am already set to start season three. I'm really enjoying it and will associate it with working on the embroidered quilt I've been stitching.

  15. I've seen bits and various episodes of The Gilmore Girls on tv over the years but have not yet gotten around to watching the full series. It is on my Netflix list though. At the moment I'm watching Weeds, having worked my way through House and Orange is The New Black before that. I'm also watching Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt at the moment, the episodes are short so I pop one on when I only have limited sewing time.
