lovely squirrel crafts
With each new month this year, I've had a new animal to work into the things I share here on Wild Olive. And within the last few months, I've added in a new Pinterest board to go with the theme. For the flying squirrel in September, I now have a Lovely Squirrel Crafts board (with all things squirrelly). Be sure to check it out!
For those who are curious, the cookie cutter above is from Meri Meri, and the fabric has been in my stash for a few years, but originally it came from JoAnn. I've got a fun fall project planned for it coming soon!

Looove that fabric! I bought a squirrel cutter a while ago, and only recently got around to using it recently here. Can't wait to see what you do with yours!
ReplyDeleteThey look so yummy! I pinned them!
DeleteI pinned them too! Those cookies sound fabulous and are so cute!
DeleteVery cute!
ReplyDeleteLove the Pinterest board! My daughter's mother-in-law has a pair of squirrels in their yard that are so tame they come right to the patio door to get treats. We spend the winter down in Texas, and usually go to their lake house on Christmas Day, and I always look for gifts I can make them. I purchased the Michael Miller print "Nuts for Dinner" (and coordinating fabric) to make a large tote bag. What fun it would be to make one of the cute little squirrels from your Pinterest board to tuck inside.
ReplyDeleteI love squirrels too... Do you know the stories by Toon Tellegen about the squirrel and the ant? philosophy for children and adults alike :) Look forward to more squirrel posts.
ReplyDeleteI *love* that fabric! Love squirrels, too. Twice, we've had a squirrel trapped in our house, and twice we've helped them safely back outside. No small effort with 3 dogs and 4 cats! :) The last one was a flying squirrel. I never had any idea just how adorable they were. My husband and I both fell head over heels for the frightened little thing. It felt so good to watch him scamper away into the woods, outside the house.
ReplyDeleteI made a cloche for my Avocado tree from a wire trash can yesterday in honor of the little squirrel who ate half of it's pit. The little rascal left the other half of the pit with the roots intact so I'm hoping for a recovery. I found the stem lying dead in the dirt. Oh cruel little squirrel go eat my acorns.
