distractions
So...you know how I said yesterday that things are coming, lots going on, etc.? In plain language, I'm feeling up to my eyeballs in deadlines. That might not be how it really is (or maybe it is), but I feel that way sometimes. And yet...I find these things that I don't REALLY need to work on.
Like this quilting flannel that I've had for a few months, waiting to be made into a whole cloth quilt. I actually spread it out to get it ready for stitching today. And then wise words came to mind: "Don't be distracted." Plus a bit of "What? Are you crazy?" I folded up the fabric for another time.
Then I have these books and a magazine that are waiting to be reviewed. I tell myself that they have a deadline, which is why I need to look through them. Sure. That's why I set aside a brochure that I'm supposed to design.
And if all that wasn't bad enough, I found the cutest little bunny project from Revoluzzza. I don't make nearly enough items from other people's super sweet patterns, and we NEED some bunnies for Easter, right? Right. They've since been cut out and faces will be stitched today.
Well, at least I set aside one distraction...for now.

I love that hexagon flannel you have. Where did you get it??
ReplyDeleteIt came from the JoAnn quilting fabrics section. Isn't it sweet?
DeleteNo way! I've been meaning to pop over there for some more embroidery floss, I will definitely have to check it out. Thanks!
DeleteP.S. What are you using for the back? And how much did you buy? Just trying to gage how much I would need for a good size quilt.
The second fabric in that photo is for the back. It's a coordinating print, also in flannel. I think I bought 2 yards of each so that it will be lap/napping quilt size. For the batting I'm using Warm 'n' Natural. It's likely to take me a while to actually make it happen (I plan on hand quilting) but maybe by next fall it will be finished!
DeleteIt looks like the perfect coloring for a fall quilt! :) I've never hand quilted before, but I've always wanted to try. Maybe an "easy" project like this will work for me since there is no piecing involved. :)
DeleteThat's kind of my thought! It'll be more like an embroidery project!
DeleteCan't wait to see the bunnies!!!!
ReplyDeleteHa! I can totally relate to this post...it seems like the times that I have the most "to be done"is when I'm most easily distracted;)
ReplyDeleteBut all of your distractions above are totally legit..I don't blame ya!
