we're praying
We are currently in the season we call Lent. It's a time of preparing our hearts for Easter, and it's a good time to make a change in your life. As Ann Voskamp put it, "Lent isn’t about forfeiting as much as it’s about formation." This Lent season (and hopefully the days, weeks and months following), I want to spend more time in prayer, and I'd like to invite you to be a part of it.
Sundays on Wild Olive will (at least until Easter) be prayer posts. Please feel free to leave a comment with any prayer requests you have.
Last week I read and prayed for each request, and I know that some of you did too. Thank you. Let's do it again this week.

I pray that my husband finds peace in his job and that my grandfather who shouldn't have to endure anymore can somehow feel healthy again. <3
ReplyDeletePlease keep the folks in Henryville, IN in your prayers. The town endured some awful tornadoes this week and much of the town is destroyed. Also, a bloggy friend of mine lost her twins to premature labor, her post is here: http://jovitaspatchwork.blogspot.com. Thanks for this forum, Mollie.
ReplyDeletePraying with you, from Brazil, wishing you health, peace and love's God to every single person.

Praying for you & all the commenters today!
ReplyDeleteStill need prayers for my little sister. We see two specialists on Wednesday who may be deciding her fate in a VERY big matter. Prayers for her, wisdom for the doctors and peace for me & Dad would be very appreciated.
Also, my cousins lost their grandpa (on the other side of their family) to cancer two weeks ago. Yesterday their grandma (on my side) was diagnosed with cancer & it's estimated she has about a year. So prayers for peace for the family, please. It's been a rough Lent so far!
Please pray that my brother will find happiness and that he will come back to the loving arms of our Heavenly Father
ReplyDeletePlease pray that my husband and I will be granted peace as we wait on the Lord to show us what he has in store for our future. My husband lost his job in November and has had no luck finding another one. He is preparing to go back to school, but would rather have a job to work and help support our family. He is a good man.
ReplyDeleteI have a dear friend named Jody who has been called by God to adopt a girl from Russia with Downs Syndrome. She has encountered a variety of setbacks but hasn't let any pf it get her down. Please pray that, by the time her application is accepted, Russia is still allowing Americans to adopt children from their country.
ReplyDeletePlease pray for Magglio, a little boy with Pompe Disease.
ReplyDeletePlease continue to pray for my family as we are struggling through a very tough situation involving our precious daughter.
ReplyDeleteJulie, my heart goes out to you. My father has also been looking for a job for some time. Prayers are much appreciated. In God we pray.

Thank you so much for your prayers, Mollie (and readers). I'm coveting prayers that we would be given another child in 2012. It's been a long time since my baby boy was a baby and I've been praying for a baby for almost a year. Thank you, thank you!
ReplyDeleteMy husband was injured on the job and then fired - which we didn't even find out about until we discovered our insurance had been canceled. Please pray for him to find a new job and for both of us to forgive the people who did this to him.
ReplyDeleteMy husband's father, who is like a father to me too, was hospitalized last night due to heart issues. He has a long history with heart problems, but it's very hard seeing someone you love so much in such a vulnerable state. Also, my cousin who has CF has been in the hospital recently with complications. Many prayers needed! Thank you so much. - Jessica Dougherty
ReplyDeleteMy dad has been sick somewhat suddenly. Some blood pressure and related kidney issues, please pray for him and his caretakers as he is not the most pleasant man to deal with. He is blind and his normal caretaker is out of the country for another two weeks. His secretary and I are covering home and his business the best we can.
ReplyDeleteI love that you are doing this every Sunday!
ReplyDeleteEveryone will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Please pray for members in my family. Some are struggling financially.
Thank you.
May God blessings surround you!
Please pray for my husband, who had a cataract removed from his left eye and now the pressure is twice what it should be in that eye. Also that he will be able to see clearly again as it has been 3 days and so far he can not see very far with that eye. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteWild Olive Followers,
ReplyDeletePlease pray for my sixteen years old daughter. She is having many troubles in school due to bullying. We have been praying that she will find one true friend to make the transition to adulthood easier. I appreciate your help.

I will be praying for all of you. Please pray for my friend, whose unborn son will be born without the left side of his heart. His name is James Daniel.
ReplyDeletePlease pray for my family. I was diagnosed Christmas 2010 with Lymphoma. Now the doctors have discovered a swollen lymph node in my six year old daughter's chest. I am praying that she will not have Lymphoma too, but she runs a low-grade fever almost every night- just like me. My six month old son was born with a mild birth defect due to me being so anemic from the Lymphoma during my pregnancy, which I feel terrible about. This year, my family will become homeless. The Virginia Department of Transportation has taken possession of our home to use our land for road work expansion. Since they didn't pay us anything, we will not be able to buy a new home. We have nowhere to go. This is only a few of the terrible things my family is going through right now. I will pray for all of you too, but God doesn't seem to hear me.
ReplyDeleteI just came across this, very cool, Mollie! Just want to share with the commenters I'm praying over each situation.

What a great idea! I am getting up at 5:30 every morning in Lent. So far it's been going really well, I always pray for the Lord to help me wake up that early when I go to bed. The nights I pray I am up before the alarm, the nights I forgot the alarm went off. He really does care about our small stuff!
ReplyDeleteI will pray for all of you. And I hope that ya'll pray for me in return. I am a single mother struggling to make ends meet while fighting depression & anxiety. This is such a wonderful idea. Nowadays, we can use all the help, love, support & encouragement we can get.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
