cleaning a drawer

drawers
Do you ever have messes all around you, but you somehow manage to clean out a drawer that no one knew was messy? I did that yesterday. Actually, I cleaned up a basket of ribbon and added it to some drawers.

My grandpa made this little cabinet of drawers, which is made to hang on the wall. It came to me with all kinds of odds and ends inside (some of which I'll be sharing soon), but not things that I really wanted to keep inside of this. It was calling out for craft supplies.

There were a lot of options for what to store in this cute set of drawers, but I settled on ribbon. You see, I have spools of ribbon that have been falling all over the place. I open my cabinet to get one thing, and all kinds of ribbon comes out at me. It was making me crazy.

So I took some toilet paper tubes and cut them down to the right length, then taped one end of ribbon to the tube and rolled them up. I secured the ends with teeny pins (which I found in one of the drawers!).

Now my drawers are filled with pretty!

  1. So pretty! It must be something in the spring air driving us to organize. I will tidy my embroidery floss tonight :)

  2. That is a gorgeous little cabinet! What a clever idea to use it for ribbons. I should probably organize my yarns and felt later today.
