the name of the recipe scared me
When someone tries to describe something that is called "Pretzel Salad", and they can't really tell me much about it, I get worried. I was told that the pretzels aren't really crunchy or mushy. I was told that it might have mayonnaise in it. I was told that it was like a Jello. These did not add up to something I wanted to try.
Thankfully, I found out that the pretzels form a crust layer, which gets topped with a creamy sweet cream cheese layer (no mayo!), which then has strawberries and Jello on top. I'm officially hooked now. If you would like to try this yummy (and pretty!) treat, here's the recipe I used.

This is one of my favorite deserts, I especially love the strawberries mixed in the jello layer. You have inspired me to make it for my kids to enjoy. :D
ReplyDeleteMy husband's grandparents always make this when we visit for Thanksgiving, and it is *so good*!
ReplyDeleteMy mom makes this every Christmas! I love it!! I always try to tell people about it and they think I'm crazy.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to check out the recipe but the link isn't working :(
ReplyDeleteThank you, Bean Bell! Somehow the link didn't paste properly, but it is all fixed now.
ReplyDeletethis is my favorite summertime dessert!
ReplyDeleteMy mom always made this for holidays and since my parents split, I am in charge of making it for my dad's family gatherings. This Christmas, I decided to shower while the jello set and it was fully jello when I got out, so yours turned out much prettier than mine this year. Thankfully, it still tasted wonderful!
