getting there...

A family vacation for us means a road trip. And with eight people in a jumbo van, driving from Chicago to Orlando can make for an adventure in itself. There are moments of poking, teasing, and yes, a few tears. But also some of the best memories ever.

Taking photos while the car is moving can be a challenge, but it's also lots of fun. It almost makes seeing the sun rise bearable! (I kid...sunrises are beautiful...just early.)

I called this one Jeff...

We had some competition between my brother, sister and I for who could take the best bridge photo. I declared this one of mine to be the winner. (And you also see Anna here, trying her best...)

The suggested travel route goes down through the state of Indiana, but we opted to drive through Illinois. This meant we got to stop in Metropolis Illinois, where The Man of Metropolis Steals Our Hearts.

listening

Ah, yes. I listened to a LOT of Sufjan along the way.

Husband Road

And we passed by Husband Road. I'm thinking I should have stopped there...

At last, we reached Florida, where we saw my grandparents, aunts, uncle, cousin, and a few sweet doggies. I'll be back later with Disney pics!
