a little bit of love...

It's amazing the difference that a little note can make. About ten years ago, I was having a rough time at a job, and just feeling really discouraged. One day, my mom packed me a lunch (a very nice thing for a mom to do for her 20 year old daughter), and included a short note. She was just letting me know that I would always be loved, appreciated and accepted in our family. I'll never forget that.

When you have the opportunity to leave a little bit of love for someone, anyone, do it. They will be encouraged. And to help you along with this, I've set up these sticky notes for you to print!

I saw the idea of printing on Post-Its here, and after I tried it myself, I knew that I needed to set up my own version. A Hearts Day (or any day!) version that is made for leaving a little love note. A little encouragement note.

This is really easy to do. First download the PDF template. There are instructions on the page, but here's the quick summary:

You print out the page, and then place a sticky note in each square. (Make sure you center them really good.) Then you run the page through the printer again, and this time, it will print the heart and speech bubble right onto your Post-Its! (You can reuse the page to print more notes on...just add more sticky notes!)

Now you can leave little notes everywhere!

  14. I'm a teacher and my mind is going crazy thinking of ways I could use this in my classroom. Could you tell me how you made the template. I'd like to make my own.

  15. Thank you all so much! The idea of being able to print on sticky notes really excited me, and I'm so glad that you like it too! (AmberLee at Giver's Log is a genius...)

LeeAnn: That's the same feeling I had! We've already used this same process for making a game, and I know we'll do lots more around my house.

I made a template on the computer by drawing boxes about .25" larger than your Post-Its. You could do this in whatever program you use for making graphics. Inside the squares, place whatever you want printed on the Post-Its. Print it, add your Post-Its, and print it again.

It might take a bit of trial and error, but once you've done it, it gets VERY easy. Have fun!

    1. I seem to recall that you could buy glue sticks that essentially make things into post-its. I'm not sure what they are called, or where to find them, but I'd check at an office supply place. They would be considered re-positionable.
