When the computer tells you to make sure that you eject your memory card before removing it from the computer...Do it!
In fact, I do eject my memory card. Always. But the card got bumped, and that caused it to disconnect. It's happened before, and fortunately never caused a problem. But yesterday, it did cause a problem. I lost a bunch of photos. From Christmas.
So, heed my warning...Eject your memory card!

you can get those pictures back, I did the same thing and lost some very important pictures... there's a thing called ZAR you can use to get them back and here's the idiots guide: http://techblissonline.com/photo-recovery-deleted-pictures-corrupted-images/ (or just google it or something). It's all free.
