crochet and garlands and hats and pompoms...

jumbo granny blanket

One of my plans for this year is to make a jumbo granny square blanket. As this sort of thing usually takes me a while, I figured it would be best to jump right in. It is slow going, but so far, I'm pleased with how it progressing. And you can't even see where I already added in too many chain stitches! Even with that, it is the perfect thing to work on while watching 30 Rock on DVD, because you don't need as much light as with embroidery.

Speaking of granny squares, I think I need to try this heart garland from Skip to My Lou. So cute!

And then, moving on to regular crochet, have you seen the hat that Elsie made? I think I need one.

And not at all crochet related, but Elsie's hat, and all this yummy yarn, have me thinking of pompoms. I reeeeaaaally like them right now, and have been thinking that they would make a great Valentine's garland. Or maybe just a brighten up the winter garland. Hmm...more fun to distract me...
