the treats...

We're food people at my house, so holidays are a wonderful excuse to make even more goodies! Today I spent much of the day in the kitchen, and it was so much fun. Two kinds of cookies, golden pumpkin cake, pumpkin cheesecake, jello salad, plus other prep work.

Here's a few shots for today, and more yummy things that I'm OH! so thankful for tomorrow:

Golden Pumpkin Cake, to be frosted with Cinnamon Buttercream

    1. It took a few days, but here's the recipe!

      1 yellow cake mix
      2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
      1 cup canned pumpkin
1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
      1/2 cup raisins (optional)
1 cup vanilla frosting (I used canned because it's easy)
      ground nutmeg or cinnamon

Heat oven to 375F. Grease cookie sheet.

Mix cake mix and pumpkin pie spice. Stir in pumpkin and butter until well blended. Sir in raisins.

Drop dough by generous tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto cookie sheet.

Bake 11 to 12 minutes or until set and light golden brown around edges. Cool 1 to 2 minutes; remove to rack. Cool completely, then frost with frosting and sprinkle with nutmeg.
