leaves and accomplishments...

leaves

After posting my leaf garland the other day, Jessica shared this link with me for making a fall wreath. Jessica pointed out that using real leaves would be a nice change in the project, and what can say? She was right!

Today we gathered more leaves and I went to town threading them onto a coat hanger that was bent into a circle. My 4-year-old sister even helped! It was really easy and fun, but it did take a LOT of leaves. Around here, we all love that at the end of the season it won't need to be stored. We'll just toss the whole thing out, because there was no cost, and there will be no waste!

Less leafy, other than the background...I'm so proud to have finished this purse! I think it's just the cutest. This was quite a project for me, but learning a new skill is always fun.

I hope you've had a lovely weekend! I can't wait to see what new things this week brings!

  2. So glad you gave it a try--it looks great! I'm planning to collect leaves tomorrow with my little guy--my husband raked today, so all the "old" ones are gone, and everything left will be new and pretty, I hope. I love the ribbon you used!

The crochet purse is gorgeous--is it your own design?

  4. Thank you!

Jessica: the ribbon is from my mom's stash...I've found new appreciation for it! The purse is the design of Rachel Denbow and is a project in the Red Velvet Art class that I'm in. (redveveltart.com)
