paint...

paint!

The other day I got this paint at Hobby Lobby. Most was on clearance. And although I try to be cautious in my buying, I couldn't resist such a good deal.

Now I really want to start creating some art...but haven't quite gotten to that "painting place". Hopefully I will soon...

  1. Painting is intimidating. I can't draw worth anything and I've always had the idea that in order to paint you had to be able to make something recognizable spring to life. I grew up watching Bob Ross and his happy little trees. I can't do that.

Then I read The Art of Personal Imagery by Corey Moortgat (http://www.amazon.com/Art-Personal-Imagery-Expressing-Through/dp/1581809905). People seem to either really love it or hate it. Her style might not be up your alley, but she really opened my eyes to using paint to create dynamic backgrounds for my art. It might work for you, but if nothing else, it's worth at least a flip through at the bookstore.
