pattern: look right

A few years back, "Mind the Gap" was a popular phrase to see around. It was, of course, based on the London train reminder. Recently, we've been inundated with variations on "Keep Calm and Carry On." While I was visiting England, I asked Katie what she thought the next phrase would be to come out of London's common culture, and after a few days...it was settled.

You see, on the streets in London, they have printed the phrase "Look Right" with an arrow. Why? Because it will save your life if you are not from England. No joke, without these, and the help of Katie, I would have forgotten about different flow of traffic when crossing the road. I could be dead! And so I made a pattern to commemorate the phrase...

Look Right Free Embroidery Pattern

After I thought about it more though, I rather like the idea of it...separate from the concept of a car coming at you. Look Right. Sort of like, keep your head up, stand tall, do your best. I shall hold onto this phrase, and you're welcome to do the same.

You can download the free embroidery pattern here as a PDF, or on Flickr as a JPG.

Jolly Spiff

But a trip like this does more than just inspire one pattern...I had to make a whole set devoted to London! It's called Jolly Spiff, and has things like a double-decker bus, the Tower Bridge, a phone booth, etc. The name comes from Katie's dad. He didn't know it, but when doing his best posh accent, he uttered the phrase "Jolly Spiff!" and thus, named this set. It was just too good to pass by.

You'll find this new collection in the shop now, ready to spiff up a few gifts for the holidays!

Now, look right dear friends!
