This is a rejected pattern. I know that as far as pencils (even half pencils) go, he looks rather happy, and not rejected at all, but that's not the case. I drew this up as a potential pattern for the Pattern of the Month Club January pattern set, but it didn't make the cut.
I still rather like him though, and thought you might too. So here's half a pencil for you. Oh, that sounds terrible. Here's an entire pencil, which fades away so you can only see half. Yeah, that sounds better.
Oh, who am I kidding? Apparently I've lost the ability to name things. So, here's the deal. You'll just have to come up with some suggestions and leave them here in the comments. And if you choose to stitch up this soon-to-be-named pencil, be sure to add your pictures to the Flickr group!

How about #2? That's what my son calls pencils since he needs to be told each time that he cannot use a colored pencil to do his school work :-)
ReplyDelete"Forgotten in the digital age, but still hopeful pencil".
ReplyDeleteThat's probably too long. Pete. Pete the pencil. That'll work.
Sounds like "Stubby" to me! He's cute! Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteAw, I love it.
ReplyDeleteI think he looks like "Patty the Partially Perceptible Pencil" .... lol :)
ReplyDeleteMy daughter suggests you name him "two-zy";)
ReplyDeletehe he - he's so cute! I vote for 'stubby', too!
ReplyDeleteHmm.. Number Two Thousand and Two? I think I like Stubby best though. =) I'll be linking!
ReplyDeleteHow about "Number 1 Pencil (because it's half of a Number 2)"
ReplyDeletemollie, you are so funny! love your posts!
ReplyDeleteHee, how about "Two" Tall Tommy? Because he's so tall that he sticks up from above the clouds (and why you can't see his legs) :)
ReplyDeleteHaha, he's so cute! I'd call him 'sharp stuff'.
ReplyDeleteI think the name should be pencilette. I would stitch it inside a colored pencil rollup just above where you would put the pencil in. Like it was halfway already in the slot!
ReplyDeleteNot sure why, he just looks like a "Ralph" to me!
ReplyDeleteYou guys are great! So many wonderful names...
