papa and me

Papa and me.

This is Papa (my grandpa) and me when I was about 2 1/2. In August he turned 98 and yesterday he went to see Jesus. He gardened, raised chickens, built furniture, made wood crafts, and most important, he fervently studied God's Word. We were quite close, and I'll miss him so much.

I'll be sharing some planned posts throughout the week, but if I disappear for times, this is why.

  43. Mollie, you have been on my mind all day long. I knew that you had loss your Papa, and I am so sorry for your loss. With you on my mind it made me think about the people I have lost and loved. Eternity doesn't come quickly enough, yet I wouldn't want to give up a day here with my Grands. It's such a fine line, and yet seems such a distance when you are missing someone so very badly. Know that I am sending my love, prayers and positive thoughts your way.
    Hugging from afar,
    Vicki

  50. I know you know how fortunate you are to have had such a great grandad, and how blessed that he helped teach you about Jesus! Thank you for sharing Jesus through your blog, it makes coming to your blogpage that much more of a joy. I hope it comforts you to think about how complete his joy is now as he meets his Savior.

  51. Papa, I promise Mollie, is standing (way too busy "over there" to be sitting) right next to you. Summon him with your heart, he is tuned to you via love. He'll help you when you need him. Because that love is so deep, its the missing the human sight of him hurts. He probably watches you sleep when you're troubled. Mollie, show him how you love him with your work, your art, your gifts. Carry on, friend, and best thoughts go to you.
