book review: stitch zakka

Stitch Zakka

Calling this a book review may be a bit of a stretch. I may be a little biased. Or a lot. But only because I'm very honored to be included in this super charming collection of projects featuring embroidery with a hint of Japanese styling. As you can see below, this book has designs from today's coolest crafters...and I think that means I'm one of them! I'm still not sure how that happened, but I'm delighted.

Stitch Zakka
Stitch Zakka

I'm fairly sure that my Rainy Day Mobile is the simplest of the projects in the book, with most of the items you can make featuring more sewing and stitching. But we all need simple now and again, right?

There are some smaller embroidery and some larger stitchings, samplers and motifs, pouches and pin cushions, and lots more. All of the designs are stitched with Cosmo embroidery floss from Lecien, and most of the fabrics are from them too.

Stitch Zakka is a very nice collection of projects, and even if I weren't in this book, I'd be wanting a copy. Oh, and hey! I have an extra copy that I'd like to give to one lucky reader!

The giveaway is open to all, and will end next Monday at midnight Eastern time. Enter below using Rafflecopter. Good luck, my stitchy friends!

  14. I've done only a tiny bit of embroidery which was fairly recently and really enjoyed it. I have trouble figuring out how to use it on projects (I know it isn't hard, but I'm not very creative in an 'coming up with ideas' sense yet!), so would love a book to guide me until I become more inventive with it!

  37. I learned to embroider when I was a kid, but never really continued with it, aside from an occasional cross stitch, which to me is in a different category. I've accumulated a bunch of tools, patterns and materials, and will be working my way through some of them this summer (Wild Olive Summer Summer Stitching Club, too) because I am finally allowing myself the time to just sit, relax and stitch. I can't wait!
