giveaway: knit simplicity

Knit Simplicity

If you haven't already figured this out, I love handmade. Typically I aim for making things myself, but buying handmade has become part of what I do more and more. Life is busy, and we can't all be skilled at everything. Thankfully, the internet is a great place for finding the things you can't make yourself. And it's even better when you can connect with the person you're buying from.

Today I'm pleased to present Knit Simplicity, a new shop that is a mother-daughter team. Erma is the maker of a beautiful collection of knit and crochet items, and her daughter Regina helps run the shop and promote her mom's work. When you look through the items at Knit Simplicity, you can see why Regina would want to support her mom's effort. It's not just that they're family...these are really lovely things! (I'm especially fond of the cowls and baskets.)

Knit Simplicity

And just in time for Mother's Day, they are giving away a $25 Knit Simplicity gift certificate! One winner will receive a printable certificate with instructions for use. You can gift it on Mother's Day or keep it for yourself (we won't tell!).

In addition, Wild Olive readers can save $5.00 off of any purchase with the coupon code WILDOLIVE, now though May 31, 2013.

My favorite Mom moment is when we were little and we would go look at christmas lights and sing in the car. My Dad was away a lot on business and it was Mom who always took us kids out for these drives.

  22. How special my children were to her. My dad and step-mom pushed them aside for her granddaughter. My husbands parents had had a granddaughter for seven years before our first came on the scene. even though my mother had 10 grandchildren by her second marriage, when they were all together you could not feel any partiality. But when we were alone or they came to visit us it was as if my children had hung the moon. She died from breast cancer in 1995 and I miss her everyday My daughter was 11 and my son was 9. They didn't get enough time with their grandmother, I didn't get enough time with my mother, but I have a whole head of memories.
