what's in my (stitching) bag

what's in my stitching bag

Blog posts showing what people are carrying around with them are so much fun, and I've shared a few of them myself, but I thought I'd try something a little different today. This is a cross between a "what's in my bag" and a "work in progress" post, showing what is in the works in my stitching pouch!

what's in my stitching bag

My pouch is cosmetic bag size, and is from DMC. It will hold a tiny embroidery hoop, but right now it holds:

• quilting thread • needle • tiny dresden plate pieces • paper-pieced star points •
• tiny vintage scissors • extra paper piece diamond • pieced star wip •

Piecing the diamonds and getting the points to match up is a bit trickier than I anticipated. The hexagons I've done in the past have been much easier. But it's still a very nice project to pick up a little at a time. (Like, when my computer is being slow and I'm waiting for something to load!)

I plan to pair the finished star with linen, and make something similar to a pouch that I recently saw online. I'm pretty sure that just about everything looks lovelier with linen!

So...what's in your stitching bag?

  1. My stitching bag is a mess right now! It's full of DMC floss skeins, a needlebook, little scissors, thimbles (that I don't even like to use), a seam ripper. Which doesn't sound so bad, except there are probably 40 skeins of floss in there so I can't find anything! :)

  2. Love this and the idea of a stitching bag...I always carry my work around in a much bigger bag - I think I really need one now! haha

I have a lot in there, but it goes everywhere with me and I'm stitching all the time.

  5. I assure that any kinds of stitching are always good and there is given great example by Mollie. I highly recommend it.
