print: snowflake memory game

snowflake memory

If you want to give yourself a bit of a headache, think about snowflakes. Actually, think about making a bunch of snowflakes that are all different. If they only need slight differences, it's not too bad, but when you want to make them obviously different, it's another story. I didn't think it would be so hard, and yet, while trying to draw up a collection, I suddenly realized that my creativity is severely limited.

It's humbling to think that God has created a weather system which produces so many millions and billions of snowflakes, each different. I only made it to six designs! Clearly God is amazing, and I am not. I'm not being hard on myself here...this is just a reminder that we may think we are doing great and amazing things, but compared to God, we're one snowflake in city that has been blanketed. One snowflake that is still treasured.

Hopefully you won't mind my lack of snowflake creativity when you download and print out this snowflake memory game! There are just six snowflake designs on two different colored backgrounds, for a total of 12 cards. Print out two copies. You can use card stock, or regular paper, which you can then mount onto a colored backing (like scrapbook paper). Cut out the circles and you're ready to play!

Even though I tried to make sure that the designs differ enough to easily spot the matches, this will most likely be a better fit for slightly older children. If you've got really little kids who are good at Memory, they may do just fine though.

Of course, even though this printable is meant to be used as a game, I'll bet you can find other ways to use these snowflake circles. Garlands? Cupcake decor? Stickers? I'd love to hear how you use them!

  4. Mollie,

I love these! You are gifted beyond your own knowledge. And you ae so right in reminding us that we are all like snowflakes all different, unique and treasured. Do you watch The Big Bang Theory? There is one episode where the group of guys go to the North Pole and one brings back a preserved snowflake and gives it to the woman he loves but can't come out and tell her.
