vintage craft: pixie puppets

A while ago, I mentioned that I have a weakness for vintage craft kits. Especially the ones that are at least 50 years old. It brings me both sadness and delight that something that is meant to be used has sat there untouched or unfinished for so long. Today I'm sharing my absolute favorite kit that I have. Here's a peek:

I definitely paid too much for this (don't even ask...), but I couldn't help myself. I love it so much, that I've left it wrapped up and haven't disturbed the contents. Ready for the rest?

A delightful craft barely describes it! These Pixie Puppets are little heads with pipe cleaner/chenille stem pieces coming out the bottom. You slide beads onto the stems and make bodies out of them! There are all kinds of ways to create the little people and animals. Here are some "popular uses" and more creature designs:

Aren't they the cutest? Sometimes you can find them on Etsy or eBay, but even without getting the vintage version, I think these would be so fun to make with new supplies. And then I wouldn't need to open and use these precious pixies!

You're not going to believe this, but I received this as a Christmas gift as a child. How I loved them, especially the black cat and witch. Congratulations on your treasure. It brought me a lot of imaginative fun.
