all is well

Back in November, I was geeking out a bit, and watched a documentary...with the commentary on. Yes, I'm like that sometimes. For me, the best part about this was that the people commentating read the contents of a letter that you couldn't make out on the screen. Here's what it said:
All is Well. Christ is Risen.
All is well. Christ is risen.

Simple, to the point, and something to think on. And I did. Since then, I've rolled that phrase around in my head over and over. When things are rough, I remember it. When things are good, I remember it. And when others need to hear it, I tell them. This short letter has been what I have needed.

You see, Christ is risen. We'll celebrate that on Sunday, but He is risen every single day. And that's all that matters. That is the most joyful, the most saving, the most important thing you and I can know.

So, I made that little printable of the phrase for you. You can click the yellow box to go to Flickr and download it in whatever size you'd like. And for me, I made a bracelet to wear on Sunday and beyond:
All Is Well Bracelet

Here's a quick rundown of how I made it.
All Is Well Bracelet
The supplies are all things I had around: wool felt, twill tape/trim, embroidery floss and snaps.
All Is Well Bracelet
With a water-soluble pen, I wrote ALL IS WELL on the trim, and stitched it in a matching color.
All Is Well Bracelet
I cut the felt and trim to fit around my wrist, plus some for overlap. The trim is a little longer than the felt. I've recently had a strong attraction to sew on snaps, so I used two.
All Is Well Bracelet
The trim wraps on the ends of the felt, and is sewn with a running stitch. I used floss to match the felt. I've also recently been LOVING mustard yellow.
All Is Well Bracelet
I sewed along the edge of the trim to hold to the felt, and kept a bit of curve on it, like it will be on my wrist.
All Is Well Bracelet
Finally, I finished it off with two more snap pieces.
All Is Well Bracelet
All Is Well Bracelet
Now I have a wearable reminder that no matter what, all is well. Christ is risen.
