sharing stripes...

Did you know that you are really good at motivating me? You are.

I've been working slowly at stitching this new embroidery pattern, but it would go a lot slower if it weren't for the fact that I promised to share this with you, and I can't let you down! (Fine, so maybe you don't care that much, but let me think that you do...it helps.)

YIP2010 - 257

So, what I'm sharing here is:

1) Me wearing stripes on a Thursday.

2) A half-finished cuckoo clock.

cuckoo...

This is definitely more involved that what I usually do, but I'm loving it.

My grandpa has a cuckoo clock, which stopped working not too long ago. It has always been a favorite thing at my grandparents' house, especially when I got to pull the chains to wind it! This clock looks NOTHING like his, but it is still inspired by it. And when it is done, I can see this hanging in our dining room. Hopefully my mom will see it the same way!

  5. SQUEEEEEEEEEEEE! I got so much joy from this! My boyfriend's grandmother recently passed away (his Grandfather passed away last year), and as his family was cleaning, sorting, and divvying up all of their possessions, he asked for their cuckoo clock. It was the most comforting thing for him at their house, and his grandparents used to purposefully not pull the chains just so he could do it when he got there.
I (being the stupid one) lost the pine-cone weights during our recent move, and there are no replacements in the works yet, but your story and pattern make me so happy! Please post a pattern? Pretty please?

  8. Thanks so much! I do plan on offering the pattern in my shop. Probably at the end of the month.

And Wendy, I think that I will frame in in a hoop like this, with backing fabric to make it extra pretty...
