fantasy sports for us...

Last night, my brother had a fantasy football draft. Are you familiar with this type of thing? You can read more about fantasy sports here, but the basic idea is that you choose players, and are awarded points based on how well the real players do each week. I think.

I find the idea to be rather ridiculous, as does the rest of my family. This did not stop my brother from creating a family fantasy football league one year. The only thing that any of us did was to choose players. To make it fun for myself, I chose only players who were on the disabled list. I won.

But all of this got me thinking, shouldn't there be a fantasy "sport" for us creative types? And so, I give you...

The Fantasy Stitching League.

You choose your floss colors, stitches, and patterns, then points are awarded for how often those elements pop up in the online embroidery world each week.

Okay, not really. But then, maybe. If I could find a way to do this and have it work and not be entirely stupid, I would do it. Not that such an idea could ever be popular. Look at how fantasy sports worked out...nobody really likes that...

  5. Hmmm...I'd play it! I was asked if I wanted to play in the fantasy football league thing and while I generally like to try everything once, I just couldn't get up the heart to try it this year. Maybe next year...or maybe not if you do come up with fantasy stitching league. ;)
