this spud's for you...

idaho spud

Someone my dad works with gave this to him today. He saved it so that I could photograph it before he ate it. Have you had an Idaho Spud bar before? (Kara? do you have any insights into these?) I know that it contains no potato, but the idea of it being like a potato was enough to make me think, "ewwww". Perhaps I missed out on this treat, but I'm ok with that...

  7. My uncle worked at the factory in Idaho Falls that made them. He would bring us an entire box of them at Christmas.

The only thing this has to do with potatoes is that some (or made all) are made in Idaho and it kinda...sorta...if you don't look to closely...looks like a potato.

I can't say that they are on the top of my candy eating list (it's a LONG list) but when I find one I'll occasionally purchase and take a nibble for nostalgia purposes.

  8. Wow! That's taking potato to a whole new level!! I love Almond Joys, but don't know if I could deal with a marshmallowy coconutty taste in my mouth. LOL

  9. Uh, okay - I totally thought 'eeew' at first read, but the picture sort of changed my mind! lol. Is that weird? That's weird. It kind of looks coconutty. I'm such a candy freak that I might have actually tried it! But still, it's odd. lol.

  10. Glad to see my professional opinion called upon. Hehe!

Idaho Spuds... Made in Idaho. I personally haven't had one in years, but you can find them at gas stations and grocery stores here.

    Marshmallowy and coconuty.

Have you heard of ice cream potatoes?!

They sell them at some old school drive-ins here and at the fair and such. :)

  12. THESE ARE MY ALL-TIME FAVORITE CANDY BARS!!!
Idaho-The Potato State, shaped like potato. Get it?

Freeze it. Dk choc outside is covered with coconut and you can crack it off and eat it. Yummy choco marshmallowy inside is so good, not sticky. Lower calorie than most candy bars.

YUMMY! And I am not from Idaho.
