much to say...

It's sort of an interesting day, because I've been feeling a bit listless thus far, and yet, I have many things that I could be doing...even that I want to do. And I have a lot of things that I want to share, so many that it seems as though I should save some for another post. But maybe this will just be a long post...here we go:

wishing there were leftovers...

Food: I made this dessert yesterday. It doesn't really have a name, as we always call it "Barb's dessert" after the person who shared the recipe. It's easy, and very tasty. I always hope for leftovers (and in fact managed to get the last little square before heading to bed last night), but it always disappears quickly. Here's what you do:

Preheat over to 350F.

Spread a box of yellow cake mix into a greased 9x13 pan.

Add 1 stick of butter (cut into thin slices) over the cake mix, and bake for 10 minutes.

When that comes out, spread a can of pie filling over the cake (I've used cherry or apple).

Mix 1 egg and 1 cup of sour cream together, and drizzle over the pie filling.

Bake for 30 minutes.

I like to serve it with Cool Whip (not whipped cream...crazy I know, but that's the way I first tasted it, and I can't change!). This is such a favorite of mine! And I'm also thinking about other ways this might be good. Like with chocolate cake and the cherries...what do you think?

And...any thoughts on giving this an official name? Because it can use different fruit, I don't want to call it "Cherry ______", or something like that. Suggestions are appreciated!

lucky me!

Print it: It's very, very nearly St. Patrick's Day, and so I thought I had better give you a heads up that I have a Lucky Me! printable journaling collage sheet available in the March Sampler. You'll find it in the gallery section.

me: hair

Me: Yesterday I took some self-portraits, and this one was probably my favorite. I used to have long hair, then cut it all off and kept my hair very short. I never thought I'd go back to keeping it long, but these days I'm loving it. I don't often try different things with it, because I don't like to take the time. So when I quickly twisted it into this, and added the headband ($1.50 at Forever 21), and it came out just as I hoped, I was thrilled. The photo documents what will probably never happen again!

And the rest: My list of things that I'm working on keeps growing! I'm checking things off too, but my, there are so many fun things! March's Make. Do. Create. free workshop is nearly finished (needs another coat of paint, or two!), I have a nearly finished printable for the Mailing A-List (if you're not on the list, join in the sidebar and you'll automatically receive this printable!), and much more!

The downside to this is that between working on the computer, cutting out pieces for Sunday School projects, practicing guitar (because in the midst of my busyness, I decided I should pull out the acoustic again), and much crafting, my carpal tunnel has flared up. Lovely. But worth it, right?!?

  1. Oooh Mollie, yes much to say, but it's great as it means you've been busy !!
That recipe looks yummy but I can't find some of the ingredients (the mixes) so I'll skip this one, unfortunately ... :(
Do you suffer from your carpal tunnel ? I hope not. My MIL did & she had surgery, but she's far older than you, of course !
I hope your start of the week was great !!
Oh, forgot to say that your hair looked fab that way ! :D

  2. The carpal tunnel doesn't hurt all of the time, but right now it does because I've apparently irritated it. Wearing braces seems to help.

I'm curious about not being able to find the mixes. Do you not have powdered cake mixes in France? They are the most wonderful, convenient thing ever! I get generic ones for about 70 cents, and they make quick desserts as easy as pie, or in this case, cake!

and thank you for the hair compliment!

  3. Oh my god, I think I just got heart disease reading about that recipe.

When you feel like playing again (sorry about the carpal tunnel), come check out my free guitar tabs and let me know what you think!
